WorldHDD carries 13 trailers for horizontal directional drilling from $19,000 to $38,000, from 8-ton tilt beds to 20-ton air-brake flatbeds with beavertails. Most leave the lot as ready-made mud packages: a trailer with a bentonite mixing system already mounted, such as a Ditch Witch FM5x or FM13x, a Vermeer MX125 or a StraightLine HDD PM170 with a 500-gallon tank. Brands include Belshe, Behnke, Felling, Lucon and TowMaster, along with new Behnke drill and mixer trailers fitted with mud hose reels and toolboxes.
Match the trailer to the load and to the truck that tows it. Ten and twelve-ton trailers with electric brakes carry mixing packages and compact equipment, while 20-ton trailers with air brakes, dovetails and fold-up ramps are built for bigger loads and need a truck with an air brake supply. - What size trailer do I need for my directional drill?
- Start from the drill's transport weight, add pipe and tooling, and choose a trailer whose rated capacity clears the total with room to spare. Mixing packages and compact equipment fit 10 to 12-ton trailers; heavier loads move to 20-ton air-brake trailers. Every listing states its rating and GVWR. Tell us what you need to haul and we will match the trailer.
- Can I buy a trailer with a mud mixing system already mounted?
- Yes, most of our trailers sell that way. Packages pair a 10 to 20-ton trailer with a Ditch Witch FM5x or FM13x, a Vermeer MX125 or a StraightLine HDD PM170 mixer and a 300 or 500-gallon tank, so the mud side of your spread arrives ready to work.
- Electric brakes or air brakes?
- Electric brakes run off a brake controller in the tow vehicle and are standard on our 8 to 12-ton trailers. Air brakes come on the 20-ton trailers and need a truck with an air brake supply. Pick the brakes that match the truck you already run.
- How much does an HDD trailer cost?
- Trailers on our lot currently run from $19,000 to $38,000. Trailers with a mixing system mounted cost more than a bare trailer, and new trailers more than used. Every listing carries its price.
- Do you ship trailers outside Florida?
- Yes. Trailers and mud packages ship from Miami, FL nationwide. We arrange the freight and quote landed cost up front.
